Dominion Internal Medicine was established in January 2013 by Dr. Michael Ackerman, Dr. Jennifer Ackerman and Dr. Robert Lin. Dominion Internal Medicine serves Fauquier and surrounding counties as a primary care physician group for adults, adolescents and senior citizens. By focusing on preventative medicine and giving their undivided attention during appointments, patients receive well-rounded care.

Lisa Springer, family nurse practitioner, joined Dominion Internal Medicine in 2018. She has practiced medicine in Fauquier since 1998.

As a primary care physician, Robert Lin, M.D. handles a broad scope of medicine that includes total body wellness, disease prevention and management of chronic conditions and illnesses. And as an internal medicine specialist, he has the opportunity to work with patients one-on-one and help them manage their overall well-being, over time. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Robert Lin specializes in treating patients with a variety of needs. Diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, infection control, the common cold, and the flu are some of the ailments he treats on a regular basis. Equally important, Dr. Robert Lin specializes in being a compassionate and caring physician who understands the importance of being a positive influence on a patient’s life.

Dr. Jennifer Ackerman has a passion for wellness and disease prevention with a focus on women’s health issues. She has two decades of experience in all areas of primary care for adults and adolescents. Dr. Jennifer Ackerman encourages her patients to take a greater role in their own health and healthcare decisions. She has a very compassionate and caring approach and has a way of putting patients at ease.

Dr. Michael Ackerman is trained to deal with whatever health problems his patients are facing—no matter how common or rare, no matter how simple or complex. And with 20 years of experience caring for patients, he’s an expert at solving puzzling diagnostic problems and handling situations where several different illnesses may be occurring simultaneously. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Michael Ackerman believes in treating the whole patient. He also believes in listening, promoting wellness and being there for his patients throughout their entire adult lives.
